NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON YOUTH FOR THE ENVIRONMENT





* Youth of the 32 departments participated in the Conference.

* Through fun activities and workshops, was developed socio-environmental diagnosis Youth Colombia.

Bogotá DC, December 3, 2010 (MAVDT) -. To strengthen the process of social organization and participation of Colombian youth in environmental management, met for three days in Bogota more than 200 young people from around the country in the National Youth Environment Conference.

Minister of Environment, Housing and Territorial Development, Beatriz Uribe Botero, urged young people to take responsibility for building sustainable communities.

"It's very pleasing to have young people as committed as members of the National Youth Environment Network, because with their help we are reactivating and oxygenation processes of community participation in the municipalities and allowing citizen convergence spaces, to encourage coordination of institutional commitments regarding the improvement of quality of life and preservation of our natural resources, "said the Minister.

The meeting produced a diagnosis socio-environmental youth tool that will provide groups, organizations and institutions to act on the reality that affects the individual and collective development of new generations in Colombia. Also signed an agreement with the federal government responsibilities to work together for the care of the environment.
